Elon Musk announced on Friday via Twitter that Nigeria and Mozambique have approved SpaceX’s satellite broadband service Starlink.

Musk responded to a tweet about the service’s launch in Africa three days ago.

There will be some announcements on African countries soon, he said on Twitter.

Starlink will work everywhere we’re authorized to legally work here on Earth,” Elon wrote.

Starlink is currently licensed to provide internet services in over 30 countries, indicating that it is legally permitted to do so.

It has been planned to launch in Africa, primarily Nigeria, since 2021.

SpaceX sent some officials to meet with the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to discuss the possibility of getting Starlink licensed in Nigeria in May of this year.

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), authorized this license, confirming Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s statement on it company Starlink Internet Services Ltd.

ALthough, there is one disadvantage to using Starlink which is the high price.

Nigerians and Mozambicans will have to pay $110 which is approximately 60,500 Naira for preordering Starlink and $599 (330,000 Naira) for the entire package, which includes a terminal, tripod, and Wi-Fi router.

The premium service costs $500 (275,000 Naira) per month in addition to the cost of the entire equipment.

However, some Nigerians don’t mind the price as long as it provides a better service that MTN, GLO, Airtel and the rest.
