Spain marks the 10th anniversary of the country’s 2010 FIFA World Cup victory over the Netherlands in South Africa.
The Barcelona legend, Iniesta, who is now playing in Japan,
was the hero in Johannesburg that night as he struck four minutes from the end of the extra-time to secure Spain’s World Cup win.
With a naked statue showing a mirror image of his position as he struck the winner that night,
Iniesta’s hometown of Albacete has now honored their most famous son.
Locals in Albacete were to celebrate the statue’s unveiling on July 10,
but the limits on Coronavirus mean that it will take place next year.
