After 9 years of no hope, SpaceX Sends humans in to space

SpaceX Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk’s aerospace company, launches for the first time in nearly a decade into space on Saturday, May 30th.

This makes the company the first private organization ever to accomplish such a feat in a long time.

It initially wanted to lunch on Wednesday but shifted to Saturday because of weather especially the threat of lightning, forced the SpaceX and NASA teams to scrub the original start date.

The space station voyage was the first from American soil since the retirement of the space shuttles in 2011.

Aboard are Robert L. Behnken and Douglas O. Hurley, two astronaut corps veterans.

Spectator crowds including President Trump and Vice President Mike Pence watched and cheered as the countdown ticked to zero, and a Falcon 9 rocket’s engines rumbled to life.

After first slowly rising, the rocket shot through humid sky like a sleek, silver javelin, three days after an earlier launch was cancelled due to lightning and other dangerous weather concerns.

The mission, called Demo-2, is much more than the start of an end-to-end test flight with the crew.

If SpaceX is successful, Demo-2 would pave the way for NASA to approve the company’s Crew Dragon – Falcon-9 space transport system for travel from the International Space Station (ISS)
