Movie: The Batman (2022)

Movie: The Batman (2022)

I’ll be blatantly honest with you here.

The brand new Batman movie isn’t really a superhero film, per se.

Well, don’t get me wrong, though.

All the trappings of a “classic caped crusader” movie are definitely available here – whether it’s the trusted batmobile, gadgets, or the rugged suit.

And…

At the center of the film stands Bruce Wayne himself – tormented, brooding, seeking his brand of nighttime justice in an ever-so-decaying Gotham city.

So, what’s the problem?

Oh, you’ve misconstrued it. I didn’t say that the movie was “bad.” It’s just a new take on the story of The Dark Knight, and, as a long-time Batman aficionado, I loved it.

In Reeves’ confident and artistic hands, Gotham looks breathtakingly alive. Besides, you’ll get to see Batman emanating an entirely different aura than usual.

Well, I’ll talk more about that later. Let’s jump onto the plot of the story now.

However!

Before I begin, there’s something I want to tell you. As you know, it’s been almost a month since The Batman (2022) was released. Hence, you may not find it in a theater anymore.

So, how are you going to watch it?

Well, if you ask me, I’ll tell you to opt for a torrent website, like the Pirate Bay. Click here to get redirected to the website right now.

Batman – The Story Unfolds… Here

The plot of The Batman is pretty simple yet exotic. It’s set in the second year of Bruce Wayne fighting crime when he comes across a witty serial killer – the Riddler.

If you aren’t aware, Riddler, unlike any other manslayer, doesn’t stop after killing someone. He also leaves a riddle on the dead body to play with people’s minds a little.

In the film, you will see Batman tracking the footsteps of the Riddler from the beginning to the end while struggling with his own demons.

It’s the first time I’ve seen the true detective persona of Bruce Wayne, and I thoroughly enjoyed it till the end. But I won’t spoil anything anymore.

If you want to know the story, you will have to watch the film till the end. Keep in mind that you might feel a little bored at first, but sticking with it will be worth the hassle.

The Batman (2022) – Did I Like It?

Honestly, Reeves’ The Batman (2022) has left me in a tough spot. When I went to the theater, I expected to see a movie filled with mindless action and a having-a-good-time ending.

However, what I got was a 70s crime drama with sensuous grittiness and more-than-enough psychological elements.

Alongside this, Reeves also tucked in some kinetic, unpredictable action sequences to make the movie even more enjoyable.

Okay, so that’s my viewpoint about the movie.

Let’s move on to the actors, then.

When it was leaked that Robert Pattinson had been chosen to play as the caped crusader, I felt a little pessimistic at first. After all, he is the actor with the “Twilight” charisma.

However, now I feel bad for judging him because he’s absolutely killed it as the tormented and depressed justice-seeker Bruce Wayne.

In my opinion, he’s the only one who makes the movie worth seeing, even if you don’t like any other elements at all.

Oh, did I forget?

When he said, “They think I’m hiding in the shadows, but I am the shadows,” during the opening voice-over, it sent chills down my spine.

Oh, the hype.

However, that’s it for the actors, really. I was not too fond of the performance of Zoe Kravtiz as Catwoman at all. She seemed too limited in her approach and didn’t have the same appeal as she should have if I’m being honest.

Paul Dano was pretty nice as The Riddler. However, I felt like there was still something lacking in the way he approached the role.

Nonetheless, I liked Colin Farrell’s Penguin. He was decent and took my attention, although he had a limited screen time, to begin with.

Is The Batman (2022) Worth Watching?

Yes, yes, and an absolute yes!

Reeves’ The Batman is definitely different from what we have seen before. That’s why I want you to get a taste of it.

The only issue I have with the movie is its pacing. It’s almost three-hour-long and, therefore, can feel a little boring at times. The lack of action or fighting sequences makes this issue even more striking, in our opinion.

Nevertheless, if you are a Batman fan, like me, it’s a must-watch for you. I’m pretty sure that you will like this new approach and will want to get more of it.
